The Why Behind Devote[D] Foundation
February 1, 2018
Founder of Devote[D] Foundation
If I’m being real with you when I started Devote[D] Foundation I had no idea what I was doing. I knew that I wanted to help people and that was seriously it. Growing up whenever someone would ask what I wanted to do when I got older I responded “make money and help people”. Literally, that was it. Now, that has served as both helpful and tricky as I’ve gotten older because it’s a little hard to pinpoint my career path outside of Devote[D] Foundation. On one hand, I don’t mind and on the other hello, we need funds to accomplish the dream!
The only thing that I do know, and that has held true is that I truly desire to help others. This is why I started Devote[D] and commit myself to making it the best I can despite roadblocks. I truly love people and making sure that they are well taken care of. Devote[D] Foundation is my personal outlet for that. Helping others makes me happier than anything I have ever encountered. So I am going to stick with that because our peace and personal happiness matter most. It doesn’t matter what others think of your vision or if it doesn’t make sense to them. You must go after things that truly matter to you and give them EVERYTHING for them to be successful.
So much has come to fruition for Devote[D] Foundation in the short time we’ve been in 2018 and there’s absolutely no way that I could turn back now. We have a few exciting things coming up this year and I cant wait to share them with you. Until then, let’s continue to encourage each other, support each other, and boldly chase our dreams despite fear that may arise.
What are your dreams? What are you sitting on opposed to starting? What do you think that you aren’t qualified for? START NOW! I bet things will begin to come together. You’ll learn that every no that you encounter pushes you to go harder for the things that you believe in. The first step is always the hardest! But once you make it the rest will fall into place as long as you dedicate yourself to constantly growing as a person and in your niche.
More FAQ about Devote[D] and the types of events that we host:
Why do you always give out hygiene products?
How often do you change your toothbrush at home? How fast do you go through a thing of toothpaste? Have you ever lost a travel-sized anything in your life? Now think about someone who lives in an environment with no walls, no stability, always moving always going. Do you imagine that they’d be the best at keeping up with all of their belongings? If so, add in the fact that they are in an environment where they stick together in some things but in others it’s every man for themselves so if you truly don’t have something and you see a new tube of toothpaste or a nice pair of socks in someone’s bag, your logic may go out the door. Especially if you just want to feel clean in the midst of everything else going on.
Why would you want to help someone who hasn’t helped themselves?
Have you ever had the passion or desire to do something and had no idea how to get started or lacked resources? That can be discouraging for someone who has a home, has great friends and family that they talk to daily, has a stable job, and food to eat regularly. You think that it’ll be just as easy for someone who doesn’t have those things at their disposal? Neither of us knows how they lost those things or even if they ever had them to begin with and it doesn’t matter. I believe that my job is to introduce them to things that will assist them in their growth efforts and see what happens from there. We all need someone in our corner, successful or struggling to chase success.
Why don’t you do a better job of documenting the things that you do?
Marketing isn’t my strong suit. I have a passion for helping others and to me, that’s what matters most. In focusing so much on helping others I let the business aspect of things fall by the wayside. If I truly want Devote[D] Foundation to be success I realize that I have to be committed to both. Now that I believe I have a hold on helping others in the capacity that I have been, I will try my best to focus more on marketing as we continue to grow Devote[D] Foundation.
